Bike Tour Moselle-Saar-Sauer

This beautiful circular tour is located in the Moselle region and also takes you to the rivers Saar and Sauer. Roman history and wine culture are of course the big themes, plus you'll get to know a piece of Luxembourg and Lorraine. This bike tour along the Moselle, Saar & Sûre is also suitable for the inexperienced.

Day 1 Arrival in Nittel
Your tour starts in the wine village of Nittel, situated directly on the Moselle. Rental bikes will be brought to the hotel the next day.

Day 2 Nittel - Irrel, ca. 45 km / 28 mi
First you cycle along the Moselle for a while and cross it in Oberbillig by ferry (not included). Then you follow the Sûre. Echternach is considered the oldest town in Luxembourg. A medieval fortification, a basilica and a beautiful market square invite you to linger. Along the Prüm, you reach your destination for today's stage, Irrel.

Day 3 Irrel - Schweich, ca. 55 km / 34 mi
Fabulous impressions of nature await you on today's cycle tour in the Eifel. In Bitburg, you can taste the famous beer instead of wine for a change. You then cycle downhill through the tranquil Kyll valley to Schweich on the Moselle.

Day 4 Schweich - Saarburg region, ca. 45 km / 28 mi
You will soon reach the ancient Roman city of Trier, where you should plan enough time to visit the Porta Nigra and the amphitheater. From Konz, follow the Saar to Saarburg with its impressive old town, castle ruins and waterfall.

Day 5 Saarburg region - Perl, ca. 60 km / 37 mi
Follow the Saar to the Saar Loop - a scenic highlight on your journey. The effort of climbing the incline is rewarded with a magnificent view. The "Stones on the border" sculpture route with 34 works of art takes you to Perl.

Day 6 Perl - Nittel, ca. 30 km / 19 mi
Finally, you cycle through the border triangle of Germany, France and Luxembourg. The municipality of Schengen became widely known thanks to the European agreement that grants most Europeans freedom of movement and establishment. Following the Moselle, you return to your starting point.

Day 7 Departure or extension
