A cycle bus will take you and your bike up to the heights of the Eifel, and then it's a pleasant ride back down to the Moselle. Discover the Roman, medieval and French history of this region, with charming villages and towns worth seeing. Despite some hilly sections, this cycling vacation on the Moselle is also suitable for the inexperienced.
Day 1 Arrival in Perl
The tour begins in the border triangle, in the wine town of Perl. Roman history comes alive in the open-air museum Villa Borg, for gourmets there is Victor's with 3 Michelin stars.
Day 2 Perl - Trier, approx. 50 km / 31 mi
Follow the border between Germany and Luxembourg through vineyards and past the mouth of the Saar in Konz. Trier is the oldest city in Germany.
Day 3 Excursion to Saarburg, approx. 50 km / 31 mi
Outward you follow the Saar into the medieval wine town of Saarburg, back you go via the roman village Tawern (from Taberna/Taverne).
Day 4 Excursion to Bitburg, 55 km/34 mi + transfer
The bike bus takes you high into the Eifel to the beer town of Bitburg, then you glide down the romantic Kyll Valley back to Trier.
Day 5 Trier - Bernkastel-Kues, approx. 65 km / 40 mi
Enjoy ever-changing views of the Moselle valley. The historic town centre of Bernkastel-Kues enchants visitors with colourful half-timbered houses and of course excellent Moselle wines.
Day 6 Excursion to Daun, approx. 60 km / 37 mi + transfer
The bike bus will take you to the Volcanic Eifel today. You will return on the Maare-Mosel cycle path, a disused railroad line in a beautiful landscape.
Day 7 Bernkastel-Kues - Bullay, approx. 50 km / 31 mi
Also today you cycle below famous vineyards like the Kröver Nachtarsch. Bullay is famous for the double-decker bridge over the Moselle.
Day 8 Excursion to Kelberg, approx. 50 km/31 mi + transfer
By bike bus you will go back to the Volcanic Eifel. Today the tour leads over the heights through a lot of nature to the spa Bad Bertrich and back to Bullay.
Day 9 Bullay - Treis-Karden, approx. 40 km / 25 mi
Beilstein is known as the Rothenburg on the Moselle, in Cochem a visit to the Reichsburg Castle or a ride on the chair lift to the Pinnerkreuz is worthwhile.
Day 10 Treis-Karden - Koblenz, approx. 50 km / 31 mi
Further on you cycle along the Moselle to Koblenz. From the Ringelsteiner Mühle, you will take a hike to the famous Eltz Castle.
Day 11 Excursion to the Lorelei, 40 km/25 mi + boat trip
Today you’ll follow the Rhine and board a boat to take you to St. Goarshausen and the Lorelei rock. You’ll cycle back to Koblenz via Boppard with its Roman fort, beautiful Rhine promenade and the medieval town of Rhens.
Day 12 Departure or extension
